If you are a Fellow member of the Academy, apply to become an editor or author for PM&R Knowledge NOW® and assist in creating content for this resource. The Academy is always accepting applications and will pull from the pool of potential candidates to fill positions. Volunteering your time and expertise to PM&R Knowledge NOW® is a great way to get published and recognized among your peers as a participant in this ground-breaking initiative!

Apply to be an Author

Participate in the development of PM&R Knowledge NOW® by applying to be an author and develop a 1,700-word summary of a clinical topic. Please click on the link below to see a list of available topics under each of the sections of the Table of Contents of PM&R Knowledge NOW®.

Specific topics available for development or refresh are clearly marked. Please Note: Only Fellow members of AAPM&R may serve as a lead author of a topic.

You may apply for 5 topics at a time, and we will only keep your most recent application on file. If you are not chosen to develop a topic for which you applied, you may be assigned another, related topic. Editorial Board Leaders will review all applications and selected candidates will be notified by Academy staff via email within three weeks after the deadline.

For Residents: Residents may serve as a co-author only. The physician lead author applicant must identify any co-authors (residents or physicians) on the application. All co-authors will be recognized as a contributor to the published topic summary.

We are currently accepting applications for AAPM&R Fellow members to serve as editors for the editorial boards.

Editor terms are 2 years but applications are always accepted in the event of editorial board expansion, unexpected turnover, etc. Some editing and/or peer-reviewing experience is preferred. Editor positions are available to Fellow members of AAPM&R only.

Apply to be an Editorial Board Leader

Members may apply to be an editorial board leader for one of the 6 editorial boards (Medical Rehabilitation, Pediatric Rehabilitation, etc.). Editorial Board Leaders serve a 2-year term and are responsible for providing strategic leadership regarding his/her section of the Table of Contents, overseeing the PM&R Knowledge NOW® editorial process, managing the day-to-day tasks associated with the publication of online clinical content, and keeping fellow editors on task. There are currently no open positions.
